This is a program tool to calculate lateral earth pressure coefficients.
LateralK is a software for calculating lateral earth pressure coefficients and forces behind retaining walls in static and earthquake condition based on Rankine/Coulomb formulas and also Mononobe/Okabe methods. Rankine formula for static condition, including Active earth pressure and Passive earth pressure coefficient (Ka, Kp) are incorporated in the program. Coulomb formula helps find static conditions, active earth pressure coefficients such as Ka, Kp. These are used in the design package. Jacky formula provides the at-rest earth pressure co-efficient, Ko. The design package analyses the active, passive and at-rest lateral earth pressure coefficients based on both the above methods namely the Rankine and Coulomb methods. The Coulomb method takes soil-wall friction, back-slope, and wall batter angle effects into account. Magnitude of the resultant force and point of application are considered.
Earthquake effects are considered through the Mononobe-Okabe method. Different components of the ground acceleration in horizontal and vertical directions are considered. Lateral earth pressure coefficients for earthquake condition are derived from these data. Av and ah are varied in 0.05g steps to generate detailed values of Kae and Kpe. These lead to the seismic surcharge load (Pae-Pa) and total seismic force Pae behind the retaining wall. Reporting is flexible and the schematic section shows all the forces and the point of application of these forces. These can be exported in image formats. The interface is simple enough for the right kind of people. This is a very good product. If you are looking for a similar solution, this is a good candidate for a trial in your exact set up.
